Dr Jimmy (Chin Li), TEE 

BMedSci (Hons), MBBS, FRACS

Dr Jimmy Tee is a Queensland-trained General and Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary (HPB) surgeon. He is competent in all aspects of general and laparoscopic surgery, and his specific interests include hernia repair, gallbladder diseases, and surgical oncology.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland in 2011, Dr Tee obtained his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2020.

After being awarded the FRACS in General Surgery, he undertook further training in liver and kidney transplant surgery, organs retrieval and renal access surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He also undertook another year of Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary (HPB) Surgery fellowship at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore – a centre renowned for minimally invasive and multi-modal treatment of liver cancer. The time abroad has expanded his repertoire as a surgeon and broadened his perspectives of different healthcare systems and cultures.

Dr Jimmy Tee is a member of Australian & New Zealand Hepatic Pancreatic & Biliary Association (ANZHPBA), Australasian Gastro-intestinal Trial Group (AGITG) and Academy of Surgical Educators. He is credentialed with Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) to perform Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy. He has won the South Australian Best Paper prize for his research on surgical infection and the Jim Begonia Prize on Surgical innovation. He is the Clinical Director of Surgery at Redcliffe Hospital, and he is constantly thinking of ways to improve safety and quality of General Surgical services for the patients. Together with his team, they have commenced Queensland's first Rapid Access Service for post-operative surgical patients.

 

He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. He aims to provide the highest quality of care to all his patients. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and his three beautiful children. He is also an avid runner who enjoys both road and trail running.
